LumenKids Scholarship Guidelines
LumenKids is committed to ensuring our programs remain accessible to all through a donor funded and direct scholarship program. We encourage families to apply early as there is limited funding every year and demand is high. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis.
Scholarship awards are given based on demonstrated need in the application and available scholarship funds at the time of the application review.
Eligibility Requirements
LumenKids prioritizes the following populations for scholarship awards (in no particular order)
• Youth ages 11-17 who are Evanston/Chicagoland residents
• Families who are experiencing hardship or extenuating temporary circumstances
• Siblings of existing LumenKids students
The LumenKids scholarship committee meets on a regular basis to review scholarship applications. Please contact our office with any questions at info@lumennkids.org.
Admissions decisions are made thoughtfully, based primarily on the family’s and school’s shared vision regarding educational approaches and practices. There is no preference given for the date your application is received, although we do give priority to siblings of current students.
Lumenkids operates on a fundamental assumption that our work in the nonprofit community is enriched and made better by having a diversity of voices, viewpoints, and skill sets around our organizational table. LumenKids does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and student body.
